Senior Landscape Designer, Project Manager

Ph.D Veg., BHA

Stefan is our Senior Landscape Designer and Project Manager and has been part of the JDB team for the last 15 years. Stefan earned his Ph.D. in Vegetation Science while still in his home country of Romania and obtained a Landscape Design diploma with Hons. from Humber College upon settling with his family in Canada.

Using his extensive knowledge of plants, Stefan is actively involved in the inventory and analysis of vegetation communities and excels in executing a well thought out landscaping design projects. He is also a Butternut Health Assessor and is designated in identifying and assessing butternut trees, which are an endangered species and protected under Ontario’s Endangered Species Act.       

Construction Administrator, Arborist, Landscape Architect

OALA, ISA, BHA

Norman is our Construction Administrator and has been a member of the JDB team for over 20 years. He graduated from Ryerson in 1985 with a diploma in Landscape Architectural Technology and in 2007 became an ISA Certified Arborist. 

A full member of the OALA, Norman is often on site making sure that landscape installations are being done correctly and is involved in certification inspections with municipalities. As a Certified Arborist and Butternut Health Assessor he is an integral part of the tree identification and preservation process by writing arborist reports and ensuring vegetation is sufficiently protected before construction. Norman is also responsible for setting up tenders and other contract administration items for JDB.      

Junior Landscape Designer

Ilinca has been part of the JDB team since 2021. She completed her Landscape Design Certificate at the University of Guelph in April 2023 where she acquired a deep understanding of the principles and techniques necessary to create beautiful outdoor spaces.

Through her training, Ilinca has developed a keen eye for aesthetics and a strong ability to blend functionality with artistic vision. Her education at the University of Guelph has provided her with a solid foundation in horticulture, plant selection, and sustainable design practices. With this knowledge, she can effectively analyze and transform any given space into a harmonious and visually appealing landscape.

Landscape Architect Intern

 Chloe, the latest addition to the JDB team, brings fresh perspectives and a passion for landscape architecture. Currently in her third year of study, she is diligently working towards earning her bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of Guelph. 

 With her expertise in landscape design, she will undoubtedly contribute to the company's continued success, bringing forth innovative ideas, stunning designs, and a commitment to creating sustainable and captivating outdoor spaces. Chloe has become an integral part of the team, contributing to JDB's ongoing success and leaving her mark on the landscape architecture industry.
