The Manhattan, Barrie

JDB Associates were retained by Pratt Homes in 2007 to complete the landscape design for their medium density development ‘Manhattan’ in the City of Barrie. The role of JDB was to prepare tree removal and preservation plans, design the center amenity space, and prepare planting plans for the streetscape and the SWM facility. The central park space located in the center of ‘Manhattan’ contains a large gazebo and playground. The rest of the park is flat grassed open space, allowing users to partake in a wide variety of outdoor activities. The development contains a vast amount of planting throughout, the largest beds being located on the Ferndale Drive frontage to give the development a pleasant aesthetic to people passing by.
